More Than Just a Darker Window
What Window Tint Does for Your Vehicle
Window tint film blocks UV rays, reduces infrared heat buildup, and cuts glare, making your cabin cooler, your interior surfaces longer-lasting, and your driving experience more comfortable. At Northstar, we offer two premium 3M tint options: a carbon film and a ceramic film. Both are available across the same range of shades. The ceramic film delivers superior infrared rejection for drivers who want the best performance. Our team will walk you through both options at your appointment.

Know Before You Tint
Window Tint Laws in Colorado
Colorado requires front side windows to allow more than 27% light transmission. Rear side windows and the rear window have no darkness restriction for vehicles with outside mirrors on both sides. The windshield may only be tinted with a non-reflective strip above the AS-1 line. Front and rear side windows cannot be more than 27% reflective, and red, amber, and yellow tint colors are not permitted. Our team will help you choose a compliant shade.
Real, Measurable Benefits for Colorado Drivers
Why Window Tint Makes a Difference in Broomfield, CO
Block UV Rays That Damage Skin and Interior
Both tint options offer 99% UV blocking, shielding you from rays that cause skin damage and fade upholstery, crack dashboards, and degrade interior surfaces. Colorado's high altitude means more UV than most states.
Reduce Heat Buildup in the Cabin
Infrared energy generates the heat that builds up in a parked or moving vehicle. Our carbon film delivers up to 93% infrared rejection, our ceramic film reaches 95%, keeping your cabin cooler and your air conditioning working less hard.
Improve Safety, Privacy, and Comfort
Window tint reduces glare from sun and oncoming headlights, improving visibility. It also adds privacy while maintaining your outward view from the driver's seat.
Precision, Every Time
How Professional Window Tint Is Installed
1
Step one: Surface Preparation
Before any film is applied, every window is thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated. Even small particles trapped under the film will be visible once installed, so this step is non-negotiable.
2
Step two: Film Cutting and Fitting
The film is carefully cut and fitted to each individual window, ensuring clean edges and precise coverage before any adhesive contacts the glass.
3
Step three: Application
The film is applied to the interior surface of the glass using a mounting solution that allows precise positioning before it sets. Air and water are worked out from beneath the film for a smooth, bubble-free bond.
4
Step three: Cure Time
We recommend keeping windows up for at least 48 hours after installation. Some haze or small water pockets may be visible during curing, which is normal and will clear as the film fully bonds.
5
Step three: Final Inspection
Every tint job is inspected before the vehicle leaves. We check each window for consistent coverage, clean edges, and proper adhesion before considering the job done.
FAQs
Your Window Tinting Questions Answered
Will window tint affect how I see at night?
It depends on the shade you choose. Very dark shades can reduce how much light enters the cabin, which may affect nighttime visibility. Our team will help you select a shade that works for your driving habits, and we generally recommend shades of 30% or above for drivers who want a good balance of comfort and visibility in all conditions.
How long does window tint last?
Both of our tint film options come with a lifetime warranty. With proper care and maintenance, your tint should remain clear, even, and effective for many years.
How long does the installation take?
Most window tint installations can be completed the same day. The exact timeframe depends on the number of windows being tinted and the complexity of the job.
Can I roll my windows down after tinting?
We recommend keeping your windows up for at least 48 hours after installation to allow the film to cure fully. Rolling them down too soon can cause the edges to lift before the adhesive has set.
What is the difference between carbon and ceramic tint?
Carbon tint offers solid UV blocking and a clean appearance with up to 93% infrared rejection. Ceramic tint reaches 95% and uses ceramic particles for superior heat reduction and long-term clarity. If heat performance is your priority, the Exclusive ceramic package is the clear choice.
